From the evening of May 26 till the morning of May 27, illegal armed formations continued shelling ATO positions in all directions using mortars, grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, small arms, anti-aircraft guns and SPG.

The outside Ukrainian checkpoint in the village of Rodyna, near Stakhanovets (the Luhansk region) was fired. A 27-year-old Afghan company serviceman of the “Aidar” Battalion was heavily wounded by shell pieces. The injured serviceman was taken to hospital but, unfortunately, in two hours he died. During the shelling of Popasna, a mortar shell hit a residential house in Vorovskogo str. The house burnt down and its owner, a 55-year-old woman, who was hiding in the basement, died.

Ukrainian law enforcement units detained Vladimir Belous, ex-Head of Stanytsia-Luhanska District Council, who was trying to enter Ukraine from the territory of the Russian Federation. Vladimir Belous was the one who personally organized the referendum on May 1, 2014 in Stanytsia-Luhanska District.

A political expert Roman Manekin, representative of the illegal “DPR” organization, initiated collecting signatures demanding to prosecute Denis Pushylin, one of separatists’ leaders, for his “betrayal claims”.

Security Service of Ukraine detained a Dniprodzerzhynsk (the Dnipropetrovsk region) inhabitant, who was actively propagating anti-Ukrainian ideas on the Internet.

Special Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office finished the pre-trial investigation of Oleh Morgun case, ex-Head of The Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Mariupol. He is accused of exceeding power and collaboration with the illegal “DPR” organization.

People who want to leave the occupied territory are queuing for hours in traffic jams at the checkpoints betweenHorlivka and Artemovsk.

The occupied cities of Stakhanov, Kirovsk, Bryanka have run out of drinking water. People have to go to natural springs and to bring water home by hand. 

Militants are shelling ATO positions from SPG in Shyrokyne, the cannonade can be heard in all parts of Mariupol.

Both suspects of killing a Ukrainian regular in Artyomovsk have been arrested.
