A monument to perished border guard sailors, servicemen of Mariupol and Odessa coastal defense units, was opened in Mariupol on May 28. They perished, while on duty, protecting the state border in the Sea of Azov.
Slovyansk NGOs addressed the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine asking them to bring to justice Slovyansk City Council deputies for state betrayal.
The State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine (“Ukrzaliznytsia”) will resume railway communication with Mariupol (the Donetsk region) on May 31. Frist, the train from Kyiv will be launched, then, later – from Lviv. As one may remember, the route for passenger trains was altered after a bridge explosion on Kamysh-Zarya-Rozivka part of the railroad. The trains went to Berdyansk instead of Mariupol.
99% of families, that suffered the shell of microdistrict “Vostochnyi” in Mariupol (the Donetsk region), got the money to glaze windows. The information was presented by Cerhiy Korobskykh, deputy head of Ordzhonykydze district administration of the City Council. When he was asked why a lot of windows are still without glass, he explained that people do not glaze because they there is no guarantee there will be no shells again. If the situation in the frontline city remains peaceful, the windows will have been glazed by the autumn.
The press service of Hennadiy Moskal, Head of the Luhansk region military and civil administration, informs that during the past day, there were battles at several hot points along the demarcation line in the Luhansk region. On May 27, in Statytsya Luhanska suburbs, two servicemen perished. They were performing a combat mission on a bank of the Siverskyi Donets River, when they hurt a stretching grenade and exploded. One serviceman perished, another one was gravely wounded by fragments and taken to a military hospital.
A group of armed people was detained in the settlement of Yevhenivka, the Donetsk region, on May 8. The investigators found out that the arrested were members of a voluntary partisan unit “Ravlyk” (“Snail”). According to the volunteers’ words they are known to everyone in the area as they had started fighting against separatists from the very beginning of the war. Now the volunteers, who are accused of an armed attack, are in Mariupol pre-trial detention center.
According to Dmytro Korobko, the three detained volunteers’ lawyer, “Ravlyk” group came to the territory of a livestock farm in the settlement of Yevhenivka to detain people who were suspected of separatism. When the separatists were detained, the partisan group asked the police to come. However, the police detained the partisans, and the separatists caught by them are now victims in the proceedings. In their turn, the police claim that the volunteers arrived at the private farm to rob it, and that two of the partisans are wanted, one of them is accused of a murder.
