Main news of Donbas: There is a meeting against checkpoints in Avdiivka; Donetsk traffic police are going through re-attestation

At night, July 26-27, Vuhlehirska thermal power plant was shelled by illegal armed groupings. The plant was stopped. It is located near the town of Svitlodarsk between Horlivka and Debaltseve.

Thirteen civilians perished because of the shelling of the occupied territory of the Donetsk region, according to separatists’ information presented by Darya Morozova, “DPR commissioner on human rights”, on her site.

Among the people perished, there were 2 women and 11 men. According to the occupational administration, 18 people were wounded, among them 2 kids, 2 women, and 14 men.

In particular, citizens of Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk and residents of Sverdlova settlement in Chervonohvardiysky district of Makiivka were victims of shelling.

On July 28, in Avdiivka (Donetsk region), there was a meeting of locals. They asked Ukrainian servicemen not to deploy checkpoints near residential houses.  Yuriy Cherkasov, Avdiivka mayor, talked to the people.

As it was informed earlier, Avdiivka is often shelled by militants, especially, Avdiivka Coke Plant.
41 persons were not attested among the traffic police staff of the Donetsk region, according to the information of Vladyslav Krykliy, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department of the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior.

He said, “41 persons or 14 % were not attested. I would like to reply to critical remarks of MM and activists which may be expressed in the future that the major part of the staff is attested. This indicator is not true to fact. However, it is the top of the iceberg. It was the first filter”, said he. According to Krykliy, “There will be recruitment to the national police soon. Then there will be attestation again, and the requirements will be very tough. And the whole organization may be modified”.

Pavlo Zhebrivskiy, Head of Donetsk Military and Civil Administration claimed that Kyiv controls coal mines on the occupied territory more that he does. “Coal is delivered from the occupied territory to Ukraine today. It is done by different companies, most of it by Metinvest from their mines Krasnodonugol and Sverdlovskantratsyt. They pay taxes and that is controlled by fiscal services and the Anti-terroristic Center which check whether value added tax is paid and whether the application was submitted 10 days in advance. These things are controlled by Kyiv, not by me”.

On July 27, a newly born baby corpse in a plastic bag was found in a garbage container in the center of Kramatorsk. There were signs of supercooling, as it was informed by the Donetsk police press center. The police are searching for the baby’s mother.
