Reports from the front:
There were 84 attacks of illegal armed formations on Ukrainian positions in the ATO zone on February 23. 69 of those attacks were in the vicinity of Donetsk and there mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were used by militants. According to the information provided by Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Presidential Administration spokesperson on ATO related issues, 2 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka and Butivka mine.

The research group Bellingcat published a new report on MH17 crash. The experts’ verdict is that the highest military ranks of the Russian Federation Army are responsible for MH17 tragedy. The list is headed by Serhiy Shoigu, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and his two deputies,Valeriy Herasimov and Arkadiy Bakhin. The list also includes Volodymyr Putin who is Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces.
Transparency International organization states that about 75 Ukrainian companies are mixed up with Viktor Yanukovych’s (ex-president of Ukraine) corruption schemes. According to the experts information, 51 companies are situated overseas including offshore zones (Panama, Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland and Cyprus).
Residents of the town of Rubizhne (the Luhansk region) are going to demand the current mayor’s resignation. They are collecting signatures for Serhiy Khortiv’s dismissal accusing him of nonprofessionalism and ignoring the town residents’ opinion.
Reports from the occupied territory:
2 civilians were wounded in Kyibyshevsky district (Donetsk) shelling. A 10-year-old boy got a contused wound in Zaitseve (to the north of Horlivka), according to the occupational administration.
The Security Service of Ukraine reports that miners of “Luhanskvuhillya” company have not been paid their wages since Otober 2015. The amount that is currently in arrears is 480 mln Russian rubles. Oleksandr Tkachuk, chief of staff of the Security Service of Ukraine, says that arrears in payment have already led to protests at 15 regional mines.
