There were 27 attacks on ATO positions in the Donbas on March 21. Banned weapons such as heavy machine guns and grenade launchers were used by militants while shelling Zaitseve, Avdiivka and Mayorsk.
Three Ukrainian servicemen hit a mine in Avdiivka on March 21. They were hospitalized, their condition is critical.
News from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government
Water supply to the village of Zaitseve (a part of which is occupied by “DPR” militants) was restored. Pavlo Zhebrisvsky, head of the Donetsk region, said that before restoring the water pipelines, the area had been thoroughly cleared from mines.
Fresh bread has not been delivered to Zaitseve for three days, the residents of the village are running out of other food as well.
Nadiya Savchenko, Ukrainian MP was sentenced to 22 years in prison by Donetsk court (the Rostov-on-Don region). She is charged with being involved in the death of two Russian journalists who worked for All-Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. Nadiya Savchenko also has to pay 30 thousand rubles of fine for crossing the Russian border illegally. Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine, says that he is ready to exchange Nadiya for two Russian militaries to bring her back to Ukraine.
News from the occupied territory
Kalinovska-Vostochna mine situated in occupied Makiivka (the Donetsk region) was robbed. The news appeared on social networks, according to the reports, the sum of about 200 thousand hryvnyas was stolen.
The village of Novooleksandrivka (the Luhansk region) has been cut off electricity suppy for 20 months. Alenksander Hug, Deputy head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine reports that all the main roads leading to the village are blocked by nilitants “LPR” on the one side and by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the other side.
The illegal “DPR” faction is going to teach staff of occupied schools to shoot. In particular, they are going to conduct firearms and tactical classes for teachers. These subjects can become obligatory for pupils of 10-11th forms of secondary school as well.
Khartsyzsk (the Donetsk region) infrastructure has been destroyed by armed hostilities, the streets of the town are empty, Khartsyzsk pipe plant, which had been strategically important and crucial for the safety and economy of Ukraine, suspended its work. The equipment of the plant is being dismantled and taken to Russia, the end product is getting rusty in the open air on Khartsyzsk railroad tracks.
