Reports from the territory controlled by Ukraine

Ukrainsk is a town in the Donetsk region which is located on the frontline. It looks as if there had been street battles for several years. However, localssay that the town looked the same even before the war.

The business which  provided employment and fed the town was mine “Ukraine”, but after a big fire it has not been fully restored. People abandoned their houses and left the town. The majority who still live there are retired people.

Today in Ukraine, 692 people are missing in the Donbas, according to Yuriy Tandit, Security Service of Ukraine adviser.

On march 5, after 6 a.m., militants commited an armed provocation near Avdiivka. Pro-Russian occupation troops opened fire from an anti-tank launcher against Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions and Donetsk filtration station.

Georhiy Tuka, chief of Luhansk regional military and civil administration, thinks that it is expedient to hold elections in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 5 years. He said, «I do not think it will be  a serious decision to demand to hold the election on the opposite side of the demarcation line now. On the territory which is occupied now 75% of people are pro-Ukrainian, but under the circumstances it is quite natural that they are afraid of expressing their preferences and opinions. What election you are speaking about?».

Reports from the occupied territory

Aleksandr Zakharchenko, head of illegal «DPR» organization, claims that he is against the appointment of Rinat Akhmetov «chief» of certain areas of the Donetsk region (CADR). He claimed that in response to the information spread in MM that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko would agree if  CADR were headed by businessman Rinat Akhmetov and CALR — by head of «The Opposition Block» Yuriy Boyko. Igor Plotnistkiy, head of illegal «LPR», threatens to arrest Boyko if he comes to the occupied territory of the Luhansk region.

Residents of settlement Oktyabrskiy complain that they have no information about the distribution of humanitarian aid and they are denied for being included in the lists of those who get this aid. Since last year, humanitatian aid from Czech fund «People in Need» has been distributed in Donetsk. However, not everyone gets it, and some people have not been informed  about this aid at all by the local «authorities».
