Main news of Donbas: The number of shellings in ATO zone increases, more civilians get wounded

Reports from the front:

Illegal armed formations intensified their attacks on ATO positions, there were 91 shellings of Ukrainian positions in the last 24 hours. According to the information presented by Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, PA spokesperson on ATO related issues, six Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the last 24 hours.

The “DPR” faction accuses the Ukrainian side of shelling the occupied village of Staromykhailivka (the Donetsk region). 3 residential houses were damaged as a result. 

A civilian was wounded in Maryinka shelling. The man failed to get to the bomb shelter. He was wounded in the leg by a piece of shell and taken to Kurakhove hospital.

Militants shelled Avdiivka from three directions: Mineralne, Yasynuvata and Yakovlivka. The residential area of the town was shelled on April 9, a house was damaged as a result. Still, Ukrainian servicemen managed to expand the area under their control in the industrial zone of the town. 

13 militants of the illegal armed formation “Vostok” perished during the period of March 7-April 7, 90 more were wounded. According to the informaton of Aleksandr Khodakovsky, “Vostok” commander, the majority of cases were observed in Avdiivka-Yasynuvata area.

A woman, resident of the settlement of Zaytseve, was taken to hospital in Horlivka. She was wounded in the shelling of the occupied part of the settlement. The OSCE SMM was also under fire near Zaytseve. One more civilian, a woman from occupied Yakovlivka, was taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity.

Reports from the territory controlled by Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation. He has noted that the coalition majority is being restored in the Parliament, and the new agreement is based on the aims and principles of the Program of the Cabinet of Ministers. Prime Minister also stressed that he supports Volodymyr Groysman as the next Prime Minister.

Taras Kostanchuk, commander of the assault team of the “Donbas” battalion, claims that he has seen Russian professional servicemen in the Donbas. He says that he saw Russian servicemen and those who have been trained at RF military bases for the first time in Popasna, the Luhansk region

Reports from the occupied territory:
“DPR” grouping is going to have marches to mark the seizure of power in Donetsk twice a year: on April 7 and May 11 – the day when the building of the regional state administration was seized and the day of the so-called “referendum”. The occupation administration calls these days the “days of the republic”.
