Main News of Donbas: miners’ and shipyard workers’ protests

Miners of mines “Rossia” and “1/3 Novohrodivska” of “Selidovuhol” state enterprise started a strike today. The information was presented by Mykhailo Volynets, leader of the Independent trade union of Ukrainian miners, referring to Serhiy Pavlov, chief of the primary organization of the Independent trade union of Ukrainian miners at “1/3Novohrodyvska” mine. According to him, miners resent that the paying of wages has been detained. Governor Pavlo Zhebrivskiy says that there is the money to partially repay the wages. At the same time, he recommends miners to do everything for the mine to become self-sufficient. On April  26, a new working face started working at the mine. The cost of the project was 17 mln UAH. The money was taken from the budget of the business.

The volume of agricultural production of the Donetsk region (the territory controlled by Ukraine) for the three months of this year in comparison with the indicators of the last year has reduced. The information was presented by the main department of statistics in the Donetsk region.

The level of inflation in the Donetsk region was 25.3% in March 2016 in comparison with March 2015, and 35.9% in January-March compared to January-March 2015.

Humanitarian organization “ADRA” will restore 200 private houses in Maryinka and Krasnohorivka; they have started working at 140 addresses. The information was presented today on April 25, in Maryinka, during the roundtable with international charity oorganizations, as the district administration press service informs.

The workers of the Azov shipyard started an indefinite protest. They demand to shift the present general director.

The protest is supported by 200 people. «The wages are miserable, from 1000 Hryvnyas to 2000 maximun which are paid on days not fixed in the contract. The money had to be paid on Friday, though if wasn't. We don't know when it will be paid. The plant isn't fully loaded. The workers are idle», says trade union chief Oleksandr Pashkov.

There was an accident in the settlement of Bezymenne  on the occupied territory of Novoazovsk district. The road accident was caused by a militant. The victim — a local woman —  was taken to hospital. She is in an intensive therapy ward. It should be noted that it is has been the third accident caused by drunken militants in Novoazovsk district: on April 19 a woman was run over in the settlement of Kachkary, and on April 22 — a man in Sedove.
