Situation at the front
The situation in the ATO zone remains tense. Militants fired on Ukrainian militaries’ positions 54 times during the last day, 28 on Donetsk, 26 on Mariupol, as the ATO Headquarters press center informs. There were no militaries who perished; however, 4 were wounded, as it was reported by Andriy Lysenko, spokesperson of Presidential Administration on ATO related issues.
Vasyl Labay, press secretary of the Ukrainian side in the JCCC, informs that a Russian representative in the JCCC of the OSCE Mission confirmed that militants were shelling ATO forces’ positions in the vicinity of Maryinka.
News from the territory controlled by Ukraine
Four Ukrainian militaries were released from captivity. At the same time, Russian commissioner in the Contact Group for the settlement in the Donbas Borys Gryzlov claimed that Ukraine have to enact the amnesty law to implement “all for all” exchange principle.
During the last day, 16,995 people and 2,803 vehicles went through the checkpoints on the demarcation line. As the intensity of shelling has decreased and in order to lessen social tension among civilians in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the ATO Headquarters ordered checkpoint “Zaytsevo” to resumed its work on February 20, according to the State Border Guard Service.
Perished Heroes of the Revolution of Dignity are being commemorated on the territory of the region.
Reports from the occupied territory
Head of illegal “DPR” organization Aleksandr Zakharchenko claimed that local elections on the occupied territory will not take place earlier that 2017.
On the territory controlled by militants, 60 passports of “DPR” grouping were printed. They will start issuing them at the end of this month – the beginning of the next one. Besides, Zkharchenko claimed that the equipment had been brought to the region which will make it possible to print 10,000 “passports” a day.
