The territory under Ukrainian control

In Slovyansk (Donetsk region), on April 26th , the traditional Sunday meeting of local activists took place on the central square. There is a monument to Lenin there. Those who came to the square attached ropes to the monument trying to topple it. They also demanded to return the militaries of  “Sich” voluntary battalion  to Slovyansk. Reference: Battalion “Sich” was formed by nationalistic political party “All-Ukrainian Union Svoboda” and has been withdrawn from Slovyansk recently.

On April 27th , in Starobelsk (Luhansk region), there was an explosion in the yard of a local businessman’ s house. Citroёn Jumper and the house windows were damaged. There are no victims.

ATO militaries will not leave Shyrokyne (Donetsk region) unless the militants stop shelling it, violating “the Minsk Agreements”. This was said by Oleksandr Motuzyanyk. ATO spokesman, at the traditional briefing on April 27th .

He underlined that Ukrainian militaries are ready to start demilitarization which presupposes stopping firing completely, withdrawal of troops at a particular distance, installment of web cameras, and demining of the settlement and its vicinities by Ukrainian experts.

Motuzyanyk stressed that “it is possible only if firing on the part of illegal armed formations is stopped completely”.

Motuzyanyk said that the most serious situation in the Donetsk region is near Donetsk airport, in Avdiyivka, and Horlivka suburbs, in Lugansk region – in  Schastia, Krymske, Sokilnyki.
On April 27th , in Kostiantynivka (Donetsk region), when people who work for “Provintsyia” newspaper came to the editorial office in the morning, they saw broken windows. They suspect that was the result of their active pro-Ukrainian stance.

The case is now being investigated by the police. Later the editorial staff asked the Ukrainian and regional authorities to influence the police who failed to investigate a similar case a year ago, when unknown people threw bottles with flammable liquid into the editorial office.

Mikhail Gorbunov, sector “M” press-officer, reported that on April 28th  a 75-year-old Charmalyk village (Donetsk region)  resident  was killed as a result of shelling the settlement.

According to Gorbunov’s words, the shelling with grenade launcher started at 2 p.m. and was chaotic.
On April 29th the militants shelled the village of Pisky (Donetsk region) with mortars. A resident woman was wounded in the chest by a shell splinter.

The occupied territory

On April 26th , Kuibyshevskiy district of Donetsk was shelled. Residential houses and some other buildings were destroyed and damaged on Lusyna and Avtostradna Streets.

Representatives of the “DPR” illegal organization announced on April 27th  conservation of 20 mines situated on the territory which they control. 

Workers of the Security Service of Ukraine started investigation against 43 prosecutors of the Donetsk region who collaborate with “DPR General Prosecutor’s Office”.

The punishment for this crime, according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine is 8-15 years’ imprisonment. The police also informed that in fact there are “much more” prosecutors and police officers collaborating with “DPR”.

“LPR” “prosecutors” illegally search the premises of Ukrainian prosecutors. While searching, illegal armed formations confiscate prosecutors’ personal belongings, documents, money, weapons, building tools, heating  and bathroom equipment, electric appliances and other things.

The inhabitants of Mala Yurievka, which is controlled by “LPR” are dissatisfied with the terrorists’ military drills, they complain, in particular, of the behaviour of the drunk members of the “LPR” illegal armed formations.

On April 30th a firing between Russian “cossacks” happened in Donetsk (Donetsk region).  As the result of the shooting a girl was wounded in the thigh.

A not numerous rally devoted to the Labour Day took place on the main square of Donetsk on May 1st. A little more than one hundred people, mostly seniors,  paraded Artyoma street with red flags.
