Situation at the front
During the last day militants were shelling the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions. According to the ATO Headquarters, 43 shellings were registered: 37 shelling near Donetsk and 5 near Mariupol.
The ATO Headquarters accused militants of arranging a provocation which was planned for March 9-10 to discredit Ukrainian militaries and disrupt the Minsk Agreements.
The most serious situation was between Avdiivka and Yasinuvata where militants in Ukrainian uniform imitated an attack on Yasinuvata.
During the last 24 hours, 8 Ukrainian militaries were wounded in battles in the ATO zone. Andriy Lysenko, Presidential Administration spokesperson on ATO related issues, reported about that.
News from the territory controled by Ukrainian government
The 202nd anniversary of poet Taras Shevchenko was marked in towns and settlements of the Donetsk region. There were also rallies held in support of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko. The information was presented by “News of Donbas” correspondents.
Press service of Donetsk regional military and civil administration informed that Olena Hrechykhyna, a synchronized swimmer, got a licence for 2016 Olympic Games.
News from the occupied territory
The corpse of 17-year-old Iryna Yermakova, was found in occupied Horlivka (the Donetsk region). The girl went missing on December 15, 2015.
The illegal “DPR” organization is about to launch issuing its “passports” to the residents of the occupied part of the Donetsk region in March. Besides usual data, the passport will istate if a person is subject to military conscription. The information was presented by Dmitriy Kovyrshyn, “acting head of the “DPR”council of ministers”.
The amount of mill products produced by Yenakieve Metallurgical Plant (the Donetsk region) increased by 71,6% in the period of January-February 2016 compared to the same period of 2015 and reached 333 thousand tons, according to the press service eport. The plant belongs to Rinat Akhmeto’s “Metinvest” group.
